We used to theorize about a collective unconscious (I always liked the idea but had no idea how that was supposed to work), but now that we have these Artificial Intelligence text-to-image things that are trained by consuming cultural artifacts, we sort of DO have a collective unconscious that anyone can tap into...I was always a big fan of Antonio Prohias' Spy vs Spy comic, so I asked one of the AIs to draw me one. Apparently Stable Diffusion never read Mad magazine, as this stuff is what it came up with. Still, I thought the results were interesting enough that I used some other AI tools to extend and combine the original images, and somehow made a 44 page comic book from the results.

I was hoping to use similar techniques to put an audio equivalent together, but couldn't come up with much that I liked. I did end up composing some "music" as an audio equivalent or accompaniment to the comic book using some of my Artificial Unintelligent software, which worked out a lot better.

One of the goals of this project was to finally use up the last cache of 3-inch CDRs I had laying around--been saving them for years without really knowing why.

SPPY is a 44-page full color comic book about spies (I think?). Comic book is 10.25" x 6.625", and comes with a 3" cdr "soundtrack". SPPY has been compiled in an edition of 49. There is NO digital edition. So there.
